![]() I just wanted to point out what while an MLP themed deck may be cute as an idea, if the deck (or any deck) is bad, it won't get played much, which may diminish the overall impact of such a heartfelt present. I don't think I'll ever be able to get my girlfriend to play Magic. It's great that you're trying to build a deck that plays to your girlfriend's interests. And if she doesn't get to play much, a kingmaker group hug deck really doesn't seem to fit the bill. If your girlfriend is competitive and would probably prefer to have a chance of winning, the lists you posted are both pretty underwhelming. ![]() People signed up to play a 4 person (just for example) free for all, not a 1v1v2. If kingmaker makes you happy, then you do you, but I've seen playgroups get pretty salty at kingmaker decks. Standard: NotLegal Pioneer: NotLegal Modern: NotLegal Legacy: NotLegal Vintage: NotLegal Commander (EDH): NotLegal Brawl: NotLegal. Sign up to add this card to your Inventory. Princess Twilight Sparkle - Ponies: The Galloping, 2 - This is the only printing of this card. If I give people access to every single card in their deck, and they can't pull out a win, then they didn't deserve to win. Magic the Gathering Decks Warhammer Invasion World of Warcraft. The primary wincon is drawing everyone out (actual drawing, no mill,) and surviving in the meantime with ] effects, counterspells, and boardwipes. My group hug deck is the complete opposite lol. It's just my opinion that both lists you've shared are very mediocre, which makes me think they won't be very fun to play. Like I said, by all means, do what will make you guys happy. Generally speaking, straight creature beatdown is not a great plan, and considering the power level of the individual ponies, it really only gets worse. Having a lord in the command zone is decent, but again, ponies aren't a tribe with any sort of synergy like the more supported tribes, such as goblins, merfolk, or elves. If that's something your girlfriend would enjoy playing and something that wouldn't upset your group, then more power to them. What's the game plan with that deck other than "give everyone things and make friends?" But of course, each to their own. I'm not saying that that's necessarily the case with your deck, but I don't see much of a wincon other than maybe eventual pony tribal beatdown. And sometimes wiping the board is the greater good for the table, like when one player is running wild, and I'd like to think that that's a form of group hug :P I think that hug decks that are built to play kingmaker and not actually win are dumb. I run an Angus Mackenzie Turbo Fog Group Hug deck myself, which runs around 10 boardwipes/mass removal. I'm personally of the opinion that all decks should be built to win, including group hug decks. Having themed pet decks is fun, but if they can't compete with the rest of the group, they're not gonna be much fun to play, and therefore won't see much play. My main concern would be the strength of the deck compared to the rest of your playgroup. I understand that the point is to run an MLP deck, and that's totally fine. You asked how they were, flavorwise, playwise, or otherwise, and I gave you my honest opinion.
